There are many scary things about trying to move some of your IT workloads to The Cloud.  One big, scary area is the whole realm of “legal ramifications” of cloud computing.

  • Who owns your data? 
  • What can Cloud providers do with your data for their own benefit? 
  • What guarantees do you get about your data’s security and integrity?
  • Who else has access to your data? Cloud subcontractors?  Law enforcement authorities?

While the law is still uncertain, many of these issues are addressed in those lengthy service agreements.  Here’s a synopsis of the Cloud Customers’ Bill of Rights that should guide you in your “shopping” for Cloud services.
